This past Saturday was Jordan's birthday! The big 27! He feels old, saying 30 is just around the corner, but he's not there yet! 27 is still young! :) Anyway, we had a really fun day doing whatever we wanted. He started by opening his presents from me, which were just things that he picked out that he wanted off of a favorite website of his. One was his "Geek" shirt and the other was the LMAO shirt, which I thought was hilarious and had to get for him haha. He was excited and that's all that matters. :)
Then we decided to go see the movie Nine by Tim Burton. It was ok. It wasn't quite what we expected. We usually LOVE Tim Burton and own pretty much all of his movies, but I don't know, this one just didn't do it for us like the others have in the past. Oh well. It was good enough, I think it was the end that we didn't care for so much. But I won't say anymore for those who haven't seen it yet! After that we went and picked up some Panda Express for lunch, yum, and then went shopping at Old Navy. I told Jordan he could have a shopping spree too for his birthday, so that was fun because I of course bought a few things for me too! haha When we got home Jordan decided to a play a new game he got on his xbox for a while and I started cooking dinner. Here is a picture of him gaming and Sadie is trying so hard to get his attention to have him play with her. She's such a cutie. She's getting so big! (She just turned 7 mos last week by the way!)
Jordan requested Spaghetti Carbonara for his birthday dinner, which was his favorite dish that he ate in Italy. So I decided to do my best to recreate that whole dish and meal for him. I cooked the spaghetti carbonara, a french loaf of bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip in and Pelegrino to drink! It turned out pretty good I must say and Jordan loved it. Then I decided that I didn't want to do just a regular birthday cake for dessert this year so I made a Chocolate Trifle instead! It turned out so pretty in my new trifle dish! And tasted extremely good too I might add. The picture turned out a little blurry, but you get the idea. It was good. :)
We ended the day stuffed and happy. It was a good day. Happy birthday Jordie! I love you so much! Here are a few of the many reasons why I love my hubby:
1) He works so hard
2) He is hilarious, we laugh so much every single day
3) He spoils me (I spoil him too so we're even haha)
4) He is my best friend
5) We truly love each other, and that love just keeps growing
6) We love watching our fav shows together (Lost, Office, Heroes)
7) We love going on walks together (and with Sadie too!)
8) He makes me breakfast almost every weekend
9) He picks me up when I am down
10)And something I've only learned in the last year, is that he gives the most special blessings I've ever heard. Only been a couple of times, but they have brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have a husband who is a worthy priesthood holder and so strong spiritually (even if he doesn't always think so). He is a special man of God and the love of my life.
Now that I'm finished with all my mushy stuff, here's an update on our other goings ons while I'm on here blogging (while I should be studying haha). First and foremost, we are still on the house hunt! We had an offer accepted (FINALLY) last week, but after we had the inspection done on the house, we decided to pull out because there were just too many things that needed to be fixed, and they weren't cheap either, so we decided it just wasn't going to work out. Terribly disappointing because we were SO CLOSE to being done with all this crap! haha But we are very excited to keep looking and to find the right house for us! So we'll keep you posted on how that all goes.
Next, I decided to go back to school. I know, crazy huh? Why would anyone choose to do that??? hahaha I started this fall semester at the University of Utah again, and it's been taking some getting used to, in order for me to fall back into the rhythm of being a student. It's funny because it tooks me months to fall out of the rhythm and now I have to get back into it. I know, I'm nuts. Actually it's not so crazy... I'm not going back for a Masters or anything like that, but I'm going back to get certified and licensed as a Child Life Specialist. It's only going to take me a year (I will be done next fall) because I already have the bachelor's degree required for the field. So it's really not so bad! I'm pretty stoked about it really, sucks to have to be back in school, writing papers, studying, and testing again, but it will be worth it in the end because I will finally have the career that I've been shooting for. In case you have no idea what a Child Life Specialist is, they are people who work in hospitals with children who are there, whether it's only for same day surgery or for a chronic illness, I am there to work with them, kind of like a social worker for kids if that makes sense. So I'm not there for the physical stuff like a nurse or doctor, I'm there for the emotional/psychological stuff. Does that make sense? You can ask me more if it doesn't haha. Anyway, I'm really excited. I will also be working with the families of these children and their siblings if they are having a hard time with it all as well. It's going to be great. Next summer I start my internship (most likely at Primary Children's Hospital) and then I have to take my big test in order to get licensed. That part is kind of scary, but it will be a great thing!
(This is where I work, there are a couple vacancies if anyone needs an office to rent, let me know! Or if you can refer anyone to me, let me know also! It doesn't have to be for just medical purposes either, we have all kinds of people leasing from us right now!)
I will still be keeping my job that I have now though too, although I am getting promoted! I'm very excited. In the next couple of months, I'm going to go from office manager (of the property I work at) to Property Manager!! Actually me and Jordan are going to do it together because it's a big job for just me, who is going to school and going to be getting another job as well within the next year. But it's very very exciting news for us. I don't know if it will happen or not, but I'm hoping that me and Jordan can maybe start a property management business together if we like doing this enough, or if we're at least good at it. I pretty much run the show at this place already, but now I really will have the official title and everything so it's going to be awesome. Jordan is also going to keep working where he is at right now too, so we are going to be busy beavers, but that's ok! I am so blessed and grateful for all of the opportunities in my life. We are busting our butts and it's paying off!
Also, about two weeks ago, Jordan's best friend and his wife just had their first baby! Little baby Hannah. She is adorable, all five pounds of her. Such a cutie. We were so excited to go see her in the hospital. I got to hold her...she was so sweet. Such a special little girl. Makes me excited to have one someday! As soon as I'm done with all my crazy things in my life and more settled of course haha. She is a beauty though, that's for sure. Here is a picture of me and this little Princess. (Jordan gave her her first nickname of "Bite Size", so now we call her Bite Sized Hannah) :) Congrats Mike and Neomi! We love her!

Let's see, I'm trying to think if there's anything else exciting that's happened recently because I'm probably not going to be on here very often anymore now that I'm busy all the time. The only reason why I've had time to do this post is because I'm staying home sick from class tonight. I'm honestly sick too, not pretend sick. :) It seems like I've been sick a lot since working in this preschool that I'm in for one of my classes. Or maybe it's just because I'm so busy all the time now and am not getting enough sleep!
Oh! I'm absolutely stoked about New Moon coming out in a couple months! I can't believe it's almost here! Seems like I was just seeing Twilight in theaters. I'm so excited for this year because my mom knows someone who is renting out an entire theater opening night and we bought some tickets off her. So me, my mom and Elise and Brit are all going opening night to New Moon! And we have reserved seats and everything so we don't have to show up hours early and such. It's going to be so great, I can hardly wait. We are going to have t-shirts made and stuff, so fun. I know we're crazy nerds, but we have fun anyway! :)

And another thing, this was back in August, but I just barely got ahold of some of the photos! Jordan's oldest sister Michelle got married, and here are a few pictures from her bridal shower! It was a lot of fun, it was Hawaiian themed because they went on their honeymoon to Hawaii.

(This is Michelle and Becca, a very good friend of mine! With Michelle holding Becca's baby Ashton!)

(These are two of Jordan's gorgeous sisters, the bride Michelle and Angie)

(My two adorable neices: Alexis- Michelle's daughter and Alaina- Angie's daughter)

(Me and the bride)

(Michelle and her daughter Alexis again, so fun!)
We played a game where we had to give our best marriage advice and I won! It was hilarious, I wasn't going to do it, but Becca made me and it ended up being a hit! Thanks Becca! :)
Another random photo, a couple weekends ago, we had a bbq at our house and usually Jordan is so nervous to hold babies because he thinks he's going to "break" them or something. haha But finally he held baby Ashton (Becca's baby)! He is getting to be such a big boy! What a cutie. Ashton loves Jordan too, always smiling at cooing at him. So sweet. :)

Anyway, enough random stuff for ya to digest? haha Well, it's going to be a while before I'm able to post again, so I hope that's everything! We've had a pretty busy summer this year, it's been a blast. I'm hoping to get my hands on his sister's actual wedding pictures because she looked absolutely gorgeous and I LOVED my bridesmaid dress too! So we'll see if I can get those by the time I'm able to post again. I hope everyone is doing well! TTFN!
